The stars were aligned!

Saturday was a great day! My kids were so happy, not that they aren't by nature, but they played so well together...and get this with no TV or video games! They were creative and had a blast with their dad and I. Mason played with his circuit board that he got for Christmas for hours (yes I said hours! Nothing ever keeps his attention for that long). Ry hung up Mason's solar system in his room and he and Ella watched the planets spin on his bed. Ryan's favorite cookies were made made by all of us, and Claire was a happy baby. The stars must have been aligned because after talking to a few of my friends, their kids were all good and content as well. But for me, even though all that was awesome I had a special treat coming my way that I was actually giddy about. I mean really giddy. I got a facial, a wonderful facial! Regan and I took off that afternoon for facials and shopping. Facials are one of most favorite things to pamper myself with. The last one that I had was over 5 months ago right before I had Claire. So I was in complete heaven. So relaxed and spoiled. I guess I just needed that, a little time for just me to play with a best friend! After shopping we met our families at Reg's house for the Jazz game. Unfortunately we have sort of a bad curse that hangs over us. We have watched a lot of Jazz games together over the years and guess what, they have never won a game when we do that! Can't explain it...eventually it has to happen though, right? But we did have a great time watching the LeBron James show (He is amazing) that night. And once again the kids played great together. What a great day.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: So I just opened a new Diet Coke and had one taste and I saw Ella eyeing it. I asked her to leave it alone while I was going to change Claires bum and I would give her a taste after. Upon coming back from changing the baby, what 3-4 maybe 5 minutes later, I find Ella hiding under the table drinking my Coke. She comes out, burps, hands me the empty Coke can and says, "I just can't wait mom." We both just started laughing!

St George and Sundance

What a fun weekend we all just had! I decided to take the kids to St George with my mom and play over the Holiday weekend. We had a really good time! I am so lucky that my mom is so fun to be with and that she really enjoys being with my kids, as do they with her! So except for a few sleepless nights for me is was a blast and really nice to get away with my kids and focus on just playing with them and lots of laughing instead of having all the other stuff to do around the house. This weekend also really brought my gratitude up a level for both my mom and my kids. I was really blessed growing up to have a wonderful life and now I can instill those value in my kids that were taught to me. I have really great kids with big hearts and who know how to have fun. We ate out a lot, played at he park, went up Snow Canyon and hiked a little and played at the sand dunes there, we went to the dinosaur museum, watched movies, played a Pirate Island Pizza and just played games at the house.Fun filled days... and now I am exhausted!

So in the mean time while I was with the kids, Ryan and his brother, Sean, were "employees" for his sister Jen up at Sundance throwing parties for the celebs up there (she has a great job! and she hooks up her bro all the time!) I'm supposed to self-incriminate myself now by writing what I did at Sundance. My job was to keep the bars wet and the girls...I mean celebs...happy. My wife contests there are no real pics to prove this, but isn't that the idea. I kept the bar tenders supplied with whatever they told me to. I did actually consume alcohol for the first time. I was helping to pre-mix some of the specialty drinks and apparently got some on my fingers because a couple minutes into it, I wasn't thinking and licked one of my fingers and man does that stuff burn ;). Didn't feel anything people. The guest list was pretty fun, they had Paris Hilton (who cares), Makhai Phifer (you spell it), Anthony Keidis, Bryan Thicke, Wesley Snipes, Kim Kardasian (who I pretty much forced into hugging me...j/k she was really nice), T.O., Cuba Gooding Jr. (we spent about 5 minutes in the garage talking to him-he is awesome), and on his birthday: JIM CARREY who actually got up and danced with 50 cent while he was rapping. He was hilarious. It was fun getting to meet all these guys and have them be cool and not jerks-refreshing. It was crazy. Bye.

MAJOR MILESTONES: Claire had her 4 month check up this week... she weighs 16 lbs and is in the 90% for weight and 80% for height. She is doing great! She is such a joy, and total drool queen and I think a bit of a diva already... but oh so cute! I am so grateful to have her in my life. Ella is doing great with potty training... she is pretty much done. It was awesome... What a champ. She made it much easier than I thought it would be!
QUOTE OF THE WEEK: Some of my favorite things I hear almost daily from Ella and Mason are... Ella will run up to me with her arms open and give me a big "skeeze" and say,"I lav you sooo much mommy!" and Mason upon either going to school or going to bed will get teary for just a second and say, "But i don't want to go to bed (or school) I miss my family too much." Too sweet

You Gotta Love it Baby!

What a good lookin' couple!

What a great week we had... full of fun and lots of basketball, just the way we like it! Ryan and I have always been Jazz fans but over the last few years we rarely miss watching a game on TV. If we aren't watching it on TV then it usually means that Ryan is at the game via his hookups, the Richards and his sister Jen. Between those two he has had many opportunities from sitting close enough to smell the player's sweat to sitting at the same table with Darren and his wife at his golf tournament and chatting it up.  (They are some of his favorite people now.)  He also got to go to Ronnie Brewer's, C.J. Mile's and Ronnie Price's b-day party...what a spoiled brat. But this week Mason and I got in on some of the action, mind you it was nothing like partying with the Jazz players personally, but we did get to go to a game. On Monday, Mason's B-ball team had tickets to go with their dads and watch the Jazz beat up on Golden State and on Wednesday Ryan and I saw us beat up on the Hornets! (take that Chris Paul). We had a great time! We were also in good company that night, my parents were there, Ty and his sister, Jen was there with a radio station, and the Richards brothers. It was my first time leaving Claire with a babysitter and I didn't do too bad, yeah for me! So here is our run down and thoughts on the Jazz... D-Will is the man, Boozer can and will be replaced, Millsap needs to stay and get paid as our starter.  C.J. and Brewer have improved in "leaps and bounds",  Andre' is back to his old self (even if he is trying to become a model through some really crappy commercial for his wife's "salon").  Kosta may need some Proactive but, he is another diamond in the rough that our system found.  Korver is HOT, but his shot isn't right now, he's gotta figure that out for the second half of the season.  Harpring, you're done man.  We wanna see more Ronnie Price, but Knight has been a good back up so far, and Memo is money is lately. It is definetly a dream of ours to buy season tickets one day. You gotta love it baby!
MAJOR MILESTONES: Ella is potty training and doing great! As long as it is her idea to go and not be pressured, all is well. My little independent soul! It hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. Lets keep our fingers crossed!
QUOTE OF THE WEEK: The second day into potty training Ella says to me while sitting on the potty after just locking me out of the bathroom, "Mom leave me alone, I'm fine!"

Look at that smile!

A First Time For Everything

So here I am... a blogger! I never thought it would happen either, but actually I am excited about it.  The new year always gets me thinking about how I can better my life, this year blogging was killing two birds with one stone...becoming more computer savvy and being better at journalling. So bare with me as I work my way through all this "tech"stuff, hopefully I get better at it as I go.  We had a wonderful holiday season filled with shopping, parties, late nights, Christmas lights and movies, great food, family and friends and of course the spirit of Christ! We continued our traditions of dinner at Litza'a Pizza and Temple lights, a new Christmas story, brunch with the Reid girls, Christmas Eve breakfast with the Lunds and Eve night with the Reids, and Christmas breakfast at home with lots of presents (santa was good to us) and dinner with Nana and Papa on Christmas night.  The favorite presents were for me a digital scrapbook program and relaxing lotions, for Ryan his new Jazz shorts, Mason was the WII, Ella was a Cinderella dress, new toy  puppy, and her bouncing horse, and Claire a new Jumper toy.  I am still trying to find out where to put all the "stuff". We are very blessed in our lives in so many ways, we have all that we need and then some, we have a testimony of the Atonement of Christ and the restored  gospel, wonderful families and friends, of course...each other.  I have the best family and during this season especially, I am constantly reminded of that.
So as we move into 2009 here are some of our New Years Resolutions
Camille- Lose weight!!, journaling, computer stuff, and do FHE
Ryan- He isn't quite sure yet... he'll let us know
Mason-Make a new friend at school, throw a curve ball
Ella-Potty trained (sooner than later), enjoy dance class
Claire- All the baby stuff she is supposed to do.
So there it is...my first blog! Hopefully many more to come!

QUOTES OF THE WEEK: This weeks first quote is from Mason (6 1/2)... After getting his "long" hair cut from his Aunt Ally he said to her, "Oh look it's me again!"
While watching the Jazz loose to the Lakers Ryan yells out, "CJ Miles couldn't play defense against himself in the mirror!" We had a good laugh!
MAJOR MILESTONES: Claire (4 months) rolled over for the first time this week and is learning to reach and grab for things! She is growing up too fast!
