Random

We have had some random things go on that I thought I might write my thoughts on...
-Your know its January when Ryan is in major project mode. We are building a doll house for Ella (well we are helping his parents build one) and he has made all kinds of doll furniture. He has painted my mud room and put up bead board for me, painted my stair well wall which is huge and scary to tackle and he even let me paint it orange:), installed rope lighting and puck lights on his desk, framed the mirrors in my bathroom and now he is on to putting up shelves in the downstairs hall closet. Busy boy but he loves to wood work! And it keeps him happy!!!
-We started Mason at a new baseball facility this last week in hopes to get him ready for baseball in the spring. Its at Ultimate Sports in Lindon. And he loves it!! This is his favorite sport and it is fun to see him excel and have so much fun. last year City baseball wasn't quite enough for him so this year we have been toying with the idea of Super League but it is a huge time and money commitment. But hopefully we found a good compromise with this facility... its super league without the double headers on Saturday or quite as many tournaments. Hopefully it ends up being a good fit come spring time!
-We also started Ella at another dance company called the Vibe, also in Lindon. we really liked where she was at before but it was just too far away. And at this place there are a few neighbor girls who also take there and we can carpool! Yeah for me! I really like it there... it seems like a really great place for her to grow in, all different kinds of styles for ballroom to hip hop. Right now she is in a little Jazz/Ballet combo class. So cute to watch these little girls!
-We are bad dog owners... not in the since that we don't just love our Sammy to pieces but he isn't getting the exercise and attention he needs. Every winter he gets sad but this winter it seems worse and now he is acting out... like jumping on the counter and eating food. He never does that! He is really over weight and and we just can't seem to get our butts outside to take him for a walk, which he would love. I feel so guilty. Today he is at the vet to get a bath and shots, I am hoping it will be a good outing for him but most likely he will just be nervous and ready to come home. We need to do better.
-Claire is having a tough time transitioning from one nap to two. I am really ready for that to happen, naps seem to run my life. But there are just some mornings that she is a mess and can't quite make it to noon to go down. And then when she does she still doesn't sleep long enough and by five is a mess again. What do I do, let her take two naps forever or keep pushing?, She is almost 17 months, geez girl.
-I love my family...everyone seems to be doing great! All are happy and plugging along! What else can you ask for!

Couch Potatoe

I have a problem... In fact, its a little embarrassing to admit. But I told myself I was going to be better at blogging the the "every day stuff" and this is an "every day stuff". I am in to way too many TV shows right now. Every night I've got something "I have to see". I don't know what my deal is... is it really that entertaining, an escape, a distraction, quiet time... what is it? Its usually when my kids are all in bed and I can cuddle up with a hot chocolate either in my bed or by the fire and just totally veg out. But I keep telling myself that I just need to chill out and let go of a few. And its been this last year that I have started in a some new ones for me, It hasn't always been this bad. All I can say is thank goodness for DVR's so I can record and fly through the shows so it doesn't take even close to as long as it normally would!!
So here goes with the list( mind you some are just ones that I would enjoy to watch, not must see's:)
The Bachelor (new this year), The Office, 24, Greys Anatomy (new this year), Private Practice, The Biggest Looser (new this year), If Ryan is home any sporting event that is on TV is on one of the TV's and I like to watch with him, American Idol, dancing shows, during the day I sometimes have on a talk show depending on what time it is just for the background noise or new recipes, or HGTV for fun decorating ideas, but I am a Days of our Lives junky and have been for just about as long as I can remember its an every day occurrence. There may be more, depending on the night and the re-runs on (Everybody loves Raymond cracks me up:)
Try not to think less of me, I must be needing some down time right now:) In the middle of all that I really do clean and take care of my family and house and play with my husband and kids, I promise! And maybe its because its winter with not a whole bunch else to do, right?

Cutest SMILE

Mason doesn't love loosing teeth. It seems to freak him out a little. He will let a wiggly tooth be in his mouth for EVER! So last week we were sick of looking at this dangling tooth hanging there and started working on it with him! Out one came the first night (Sunday). And the second night we worked on the tooth next to it and out came the other top tooth! Of course it wasn't near as bad as he thought it would be and now he has the cutest smile with this big hole in his face! LOVE IT!! The only down side for him was that the tooth fairy was 3 days late!!! What's up with that?!! Whoops, guess we shouldn't be loosing teeth anymore on Sundays when the tooth fairy "doesn't work and gets backed up from the weekend"... takes her a few extra days to get here! But she made up for it with an extra dollar, such a nice fairy:)

Jazz vs Grizzlies

Its that time of year when the boys get to go to the Jazz game courtesy of the Jr Jazz tickets! Mason looks forward to this every year! They, once again, had so much fun! Ry and Mason went with our neighbors Cam and Braden and started off the night at Skybox. Ryan had a very proud moment there when he heard Mason ask the waiter if he could "have wings but not quite so hot". Ryan said he was beaming! "His boy is becoming a man" Oh brother! Too funny! Then on to the game, the seats were of course in nose bleeds, but the company was a blast and the boys enjoyed watching the game especially when Brewer through down a "sick" dunk at the end of the game. You gotta love it baby!

A Skier

I started the new year off by doing something that I have always enjoyed doing but haven't quite put the time, energy and money too, until this year! My dad and brother, Brodie go skiing every weekend and are total rock stars! They really are amazing skiers and have so much fun. They have been trying to get the rest of us siblings out for years. In the past I have gone once maybe twice a year, except for last year or years in the past when I have either been pregnant or had a new born I haven't gone at all. I really have fun when I go and am excited for this year to go a bunch more. My dad was generous enough to get me a 10 pass season pass up to Snowbird this year! So we started off the New year up on the slopes. It was really fun and I didn't do too bad especially for not having been in a couple of years. Never mind the 4 to 5 year old ski schools totally skiing circles around me and my incredible dad who is fearless and amazing to watch:) But oh my gosh, I am totally out of shape! Especially ski shape. My legs were jello and cramping and getting the quivers before I knew it. And for days after watching me go up and down the stairs was hilarious! Since then I have gone one other time last weekend, and I actually improved a little and wasn't as sore after! YEAH!! It feels so good to be up on the beautiful mountain, pushing myself physically and mentally and just playing with my dad and brother! I am so excited for this winter season and hope that I can improve this year. January and February don't seem quite so drab when you have something to look forward to on the weekend. Maybe by the end of it all I will be able to officially call my self a skier and not be embarrassed to say that:) I would also love to get Ryan and Mason up there! How fun would that be to go as a family each weekend! So thanks Dad for the wonderful gift and experience! It's going to be a fun season!

New Years

So finally I can sit down and write what some of my ambitions are for the new year... and hopefully stick to them:) So besides the total obvious of getting in shape and loose weight, which are always works in progress of mine, I would like to get organized! There are so many areas in my life that I "just deal with" that really are in disarray namely my laundry room, my desk, my filing and bill folders, my recipes, and my pictures; just to name a few. But those are some areas that I really would like to get the patience for and work on so I can function a little better. We need to climb out of debt this year. I need to get my "needs" and my "wants" back in check and buckle down for a while so we can stop having this nus around our necks slowing chocking us. Money is always a tough subject to tackle and get a grip on. Play more with my kids, instead of just being in the room and commenting on what they are doing, really play with them and enjoy them on a different level. And as far as blogging goes I would like to remember to write the little things down, daily events or thoughts instead of just the big events or major to dos around here. I have loved blogging and want to take it to another level. My family is my life and I want to try to do all that I can to remember my kids when they were little like this. Because really it is such a precious time! I am excited for 2010, I think if I can live in the moment and relax and have some fun its going to be fabulous!
