bOys aNd tHeiR ToYs

So at the beginning of this summer Ryan got a new toy... a 1977 Shoebox Bronco to fix up and play with. The man has been in heaven the last couple of months, as well as my kids! The story behind the Bronco is... a few years ago Jeff bought this Bronco to fix up, apparently this was "the" car that both him and Ryan have always wanted to fix up. Since he bought it he hasn't done anything with it but let it sit there so when he needed his backyard put it he asked Ryan if he would be willing to trade the Bronco for Ryan's work. Of course Ryan jumped all over it and hasn't looked back since. Just about every night he has taken it for a drive at least around the neighborhood and on Saturdays if he can, and driving to church on Sundays, it is his car of choice. The kids are in love with it and beg him to take them on rides just about everyday when he gets home from work. And every time its out in the driveway the neighborhood kids are lining up too. I am sure it will take a few years to restore it and get it into the kinda shape and look that we are all dreaming about... but it will be a fun project to work on over the years... who knows maybe by the time Mason is driving it will be done (scary thought). As of right now it is almost able to pass inspection, it just needs shoulder seat belts instead of just lap belts and a working horn, and turn signals and then we are good to go. Its fun to see Ryan so giddy about it. He took me out in it on our Friday night date last weekend... and I must admit it added a little something extra. We had fun... except I am not diggin the freeway yet... the idea of just me and the pavement isn't sitting to great. (it did come with doors and a top Ry just prefers them off... it looks cooler). Anyways, its his "chill" car... it relaxes him and he is having a blast with it.

  1. That is awesome! Craig wants a truck like the one in THE ROOKIE so bad. He would love that! I think it brings you two back to the school days!!! How fun!
